Our organization is forming a partnership with the ministry of Missionary Lee Hye-jin, who is serving children and youth with disabilities in Bangladesh, and we are seeking to establish directions in which we can support her ministry.
1. Purpose and Direction
Bangladesh is a country where more than 90% of the population is Muslim, to the extent that it can be considered an Islamic nation. Approximately 8–9% of the population follows Hinduism, while other religions such as Buddhism and Christianity account for less than 1%.
Due to this strong Islamic social environment, Christian activities are not widely welcomed. Nevertheless, thankfully, because government institutions also lack the capacity and conditions to care for children and youth with disabilities living in impoverished areas, they have been relatively tolerant of this missionary ministry.
Originally, this ministry focused only on children under the age of 14. However, over time, many of the children have grown into teenagers and adults, and they continue to remain at the center, living together as a community. As the number of participants increases and the age range expands into teenagers and adults, there is a growing need for greater ministry support.
2. Target Group and Goals
- Care and management for children under 12 years old
- Care and management for teenagers aged 13 and above
- Vocational training for adults
- One-on-one sponsorship and discipleship for children and youth
- Worship, praise, and Bible study
- Short-term mission trips, one-day camps, and sports events
- Care, support, seminars, and retreats for teachers
3. Sponsorship Participation Methods
- Sponsorship for one child – CAD $30
- Snack sponsorship (snacks, drinks, etc.) – CAD $50
4. Expansion Plan (Year 2)
- Annual mission field visit to Bangladesh
- Recruitment of short-term missionaries
- Support for vocational schools for youth and adults
- Regular seminars and retreats for teachers

저희 기관은 방글라데시에서 장애 어린이와 청소년을 대상으로 교육사역을 하고 계신 이혜진 선교사님의 사역과 파트너십을 맺고
선교사님의 사역을 서포트 할 수 있는 방향성에 대해서 적어보려고 합니다.
1. 목적과 방향성
방글라데시는 이슬람 국가라고 할 수 있을 정도로 90프로 이상이 이슬람 종교를 가지고 있습니다. 그리고 8~9 프로 정도는 힌두교를 믿는다고 합니다. 기타 불교와 기독교 등은 1프로 이하로 알려져 있습니다. 이처럼 이슬람 중심의 사회적 분위기로 그만큼 기독교 활동에 대해서 환영받을 수 없는 나라입니다. 그럼에도 불구하고 감사하게도 정부기관 조차 빈민지역에 방치되어 있는 장애 어린이와 청소년들을 돌볼 수 있는 여건과 상황이 되지 못하기 때문에 선교사님의 사역에 대해서는 눈 감아주고 있는 상황이라고 합니다. 본래 이 사역은 14세 이하의 어린이들만을 대상으로 했지만 시간이 지나면서 청소년이 되고 성인이 된 사람들도 계속해서 센터에 남아서 함께 공동체 생활을 이어가고 있습니다. 점점 대상자가 늘어가고 연령대가 청소년과 성인으로 확대되면서 많은 사역적인 서포트가 필요한 상황입니다.
