Yours Foundation supports Haitian refugee children in the Dominican Republic so that they may grow up healthy in a safe and stable environment, through the warm support of local churches and organizations in Korea and around the world.
Yours Foundation is a nonprofit mission organization officially authorized by the government of the Dominican Republic. (Established in January 2024, officially accredited in February 2025)
The Dominican Republic is a beautiful Caribbean island nation with a tropical climate, maintaining an average temperature of around 86°F year-round. The island is shared by two countries, the Dominican Republic and Haiti, which face each other across a national border.
Haiti has suffered from frequent earthquakes and prolonged civil unrest, and is currently in a state of near lawlessness. As a result, a large number of Haitians have crossed illegally into the Dominican Republic in search of survival. The estimated number of Haitian migrants living in the Dominican Republic exceeds two million.
Today, many children in the Dominican Republic live without protection, falling into blind spots of medical care and education. In addition, due to the lack of education among women, many children are born outside of stable family structures, leaving a growing number of children neglected and vulnerable.
Yours Foundation connects sponsors one-on-one with children in need, enabling children in the Dominican Republic and Haiti—who lack access to education—to attend school.
With a monthly sponsorship of USD 20 (KRW 30,000 / CAD 30), one child can receive the opportunity to go to school.
