✨ Your Foundation is a Christian non-profit organization established to support children, youth, and adult education in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Currently, we serve Oasis Christian School, based in the Dominican Republic, and regularly provide support for children in both the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
📣 Regular Sponsorship for Oasis Christian School Teachers Now Open!
📌 We plan to hold regular gatherings with the school’s teachers.
In May 2024, we held a meeting with all the teachers, where we discussed the needs and priorities for the school ministry. We shared a meal afterward and enjoyed a time of fellowship.
In September, we conducted a seminar for all teachers on the theme of "Healthy Habits in Christ." We also shared a meal and fellowship.
In November, we plan to take all teachers on a one-day retreat to a special location away from the school. On Saturday, November 16th, we’ll spend the whole day together, studying, sharing, and enjoying a good meal.
📌 Special Support and Care Needed for Teachers
Our school teachers’ monthly salary is 10,000 pesos, approximately $166 USD. Three of our teachers also work for Compassion Centers, earning an additional 14,000 pesos, around $230 USD, for a total of less than $400 USD from both institutions combined. Most teachers live on $166 USD per month.
Recently, two teachers left our school for positions in public schools, where the monthly salary is about $1,000 USD. Understandably, many teachers aspire to public school positions. However, we are grateful to have dedicated teachers who have served for more than five or even ten years.
📌 Developing a Special Care System for Teachers
We plan to implement a differentiated pay system based on years of service, offering bonuses and gifts at key milestones like three, five, ten, fifteen, and twenty years. We also plan to provide additional financial support for personal milestones, such as birthdays, weddings, or funerals, to promote stability and security for teachers and students.
During my visits, I hope to organize special retreats for teachers, providing a time to study God’s Word, enjoy good food, and build deeper connections. We also plan to prepare thoughtful gifts for teachers during these gatherings.
Supporting and training our teachers may be even more crucial than sponsoring the children. We aim to ensure that no teacher sees our school as a temporary step towards a public school job. Our goal is to foster pride and a sense of value in serving as a teacher at our school.
